Is Mike's Place the new place to get a drink in Calexico?

I wonder what happened to the owner? New management? Kidnapped by drug lords?

Mike's Place used to be a replica of downtown Mexicali norteņo bars.

Is there a lot of people there?

It seems like this is a trend in the Imperial Valley lately. A place starts hosting live music for a younger crowd and then it starts to become the new drinking place. It happened with Tommy's (the Esquire), which used to be the hangout for all the white bums and alcoholic farmers.

Maybe this is the key for the revitalization of the valley's sleazebag bars.

I actually haven't been there in years. We once went bar hopping in Calexico and Mike's Place was quite a site. We basically walked in and out in less than two minutes.
