I was just looking up ticket information for George Carlin's performances in San Diego when I realized his official Web site has him listed in the calendar as performing at the Yuma Civic Center on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at 7:30 PM.

Tickets are less than $40.

I have a feeling Carlin is going to die in the very near future, so I'm not missing out.

I'm going to his SD show. It's closer to me, but the Yuma show is way cheaper (I didn't know about until know).

Anyway, it probably would come out the same with gas and all. I just hope it's good and not the usual "golf sucks" or "euphemisms are bullshit" routine.

You mean like how golf is as exciting as "watching two flies fuck?"

I'm hoping for a replica of his 1990 HBO special "Doin' It Again."

Yeah, that routine. It's pretty funny and all, but come on.... Anyway, I'm sure it'll be good, even if he does die shortly afterwards.

Last night I saw George Carlin in Yuma. He looked real old (69!), but was in good spirits. He had lots of new material he was actually reading off and trying on the crowd, but some of it did seem like the same, same. Regardless, it was hilarious.

I wasn't sure how the Yuma crowd was going to react to Carlin's humor, especially since the convention center seemed to be half full (or is that half empty?). I figured they knew what he was all about, but with this city appearing to be big on the military, anti-immigration and our president, I expected to hear a lot of boos and maybe even heckling. I didn't hear a single one, but did notice some couples/groups get up with plenty of time left, walk away and appear to never return to their seats. Offended, maybe?

I think the only "negative" reception George Carlin got was with his vulgar "family" jokes. Many didn't seem to stomache jokes about daughters being molested by their fathers nor redneck inbreeding.

Carlin was awesome though. I'm glad to have seen him for the first time. I did have high expectations because of my favorite HBO special "Doin' It Again," but I have to say I was completely satisfied. Well, maybe except for the what seemed to be abrupted goodbye at the end.

Carnicero, did you end up seeing him in San Diego?

I saw him. Same as what you were talking about. Read a lot from a piece of paper. People did walk away, and unfortunately, there were too many a-holes (one right behind me) that felt like they had to share their commentary during the show and could not wait after.

Anyhow, it was an awesome show and if he does not die I hope to catch him again.

And fuck Tiger Woods.
