The story of three Mexicans surviving out in the Pacific Ocean for nine months by only eating raw fish, seagulls and drinking rain water is practically old news, but now there's information on two other passengers on the same boat who died during the "epic sea voyage."
The survivors claim the two who perished "refused to eat, and that's why they died." A little odd I thought as once you're at the point of dying from starvation, humans tend to eat anything, sometimes including their own.
So do any of you believe these two actually "refused to eat" or did the ritualistic cannibalism in their Aztec blood simply kick in?

Oh they ate them. I wonder what human ribs taste like.
Or better yet. They were being attacked by great white sharks and they sacrificed two not so virgin souls (also in their Aztec blood). |

But only if Gael Garcia Bernal plays the leading role...
If the movie/book is loosely based on this, then it could be good, but if it is done to every exact detail, it will be quite the bore.
Day 71: Sun up. Sat around and hoped to get rescued. Fished, caught nothing. Sun down.
Day 72. Sun up. Sat around and hoped to get rescued. Fished, caught a tire. Sun down.
Day 73: Sun up. Sat around and hoped to get rescued. Fished, caught seaweed. Sun down.
Day 74: Sun up. Sat around and hoped to get rescued. Fished, caught one fish. Sun down.
Day 75: Sun up. ... |

| The reason the two people died is that they only would eat "carne asada" and they thought that fish eating was for "putos". Two very macho men..... |

Where do you come up with the theory of Aztec cannibalism? Plus they were from Nayarit, so most probably of Huichol or Cora descent
The story is amazing though. These guys can out-survive a navy seal. If they ate them I wouldn't blame them... or maybe they did refuse to eat from being sick, after all they were eating raw meat and rain water that collected on the boat bottom...not too kosher.
And as for a story...The survivors of the Andes were lost for 72 days...this one might top it, if the writers are good. But rather than a movie this would be better in a mini-series format. Perhaps like "Lost." |

| I think the whole thing is BS...I doubt it really happened. After hearing more news about this case (the marijuana deal, and the storms), I think that they weren't really there for 9 months, and they probably killed the other 2 dudes |
