Anyone want to go on a one hour trip?
The 3 Mexicans lost at sea are in the process of becoming millionaires after a movie studio expressed interest in making a film based on their ocean odyssey.
Movie to make millionaires of lost Mexico fishermen

Three Mexicans who spent nine months drifting across the Pacific Ocean in a flimsy fishing boat eating raw fish and sea birds are to be paid at least $3.8 million to turn their story into a movie.
The three -- all fishermen who said they were too poor to afford a better boat or modern fishing tackle -- have signed a contract to sell their story to an Atlanta-based company, said a government official in San Blas, the fishing town where they began their odyssey.
The company negotiated 8-year exclusive rights to market the story to film companies, book publishers and merchandisers, said government official Silverio Aspericueta, adding that the final payment could be even higher. He said the company's name was Ezekiel 22.

Where do you come up with the theory of Aztec cannibalism? Plus they were from Nayarit, so most probably of Huichol or Cora descent
The story is amazing though. These guys can out-survive a navy seal. If they ate them I wouldn't blame them... or maybe they did refuse to eat from being sick, after all they were eating raw meat and rain water that collected on the boat bottom...not too kosher.
And as for a story...The survivors of the Andes were lost for 72 days...this one might top it, if the writers are good. But rather than a movie this would be better in a mini-series format. Perhaps like "Lost." |
i think the movie idea is good, but making into a series would be boring as hell, think about it, three guys, possibly 5 with two expected to die on a boat, no women, no food....what would the story line be? at least in lost there's chicks and mystery about the island they can have adverntures on |
