Let me tell you a little bit about The Progress. It started in Holtville as a local newspaper but since they were doing a lot of sales they decided to expand to the whole valley. The paper comes out every Friday and can be picked up for free at different locations in the Imperial Valley.
My job at the progress is to cover the city of Calexico meaning that I will cover City Council Meetings, Planning Commission meetings, and school board meetings.
Also, I will start covering IVC and SDSU student affairs covering what the Student body is doing as well as new that come from those institutions.
Right now i'm looking to cover Mexicali and right now i'm working with my liasons over there so expect more coverage from Mexicali by next month. |
