Lately I've noticed a few cars from Mex, usually a BMW or Mini Cooper, sporting European-style license plates in the rear of the vehicle. The plates very much resemble the current curved yellow sun-like plate design, but are about twice as wide.
Are these illegal or has Baja California given into the demand of those who drive luxury European automobiles? |

| I heard you can order them for an extra fee and replace the original US design. They bolt directly on Euro bumpers and are completely legal. They actually look cool on European cars such as Volkswagens. You don't have to have a new model, I've seen many cars that have been imported to Mexicali with the yellow Euro style plates, though the White "Nacional" ones look much better than the yellows. |
