It's official, the El Pollo Loco "coming soon" sign is up on Cole Road. As reported by 451PC back in November of 2005, a second El Pollo Loco will be opening up in the Imperial Valley and this time it's in Calexico.

Any idea when the grand opening will be?

No, it's basically right next to Home Town Buffet.

Not to knock the EPL in Calexico before it even opens, but as long as the owner doesn't skimp and use the same ingredients as those from Home Town Buffet, then I'm a regular.

What is up with the fast food chains incessantly growing in the Valley? Is that all we have to offer?

I honestly cook every single day. It's not that hard to open up a box of cereal or a yogurt in the morning to have breakfast. I prepare my lunch the night before, and I cook dinner. Fast food is seldom a choice.
