I'm about to get myself a Nintendo DS Lite. I've been waiting for this version of the DS to come out. I've also been eyeing the Zelda games for some time now, but was never really sure if the DS was worth the purchase.
I'm convinced now, except the only color out is Crystal White. In Japan, Ice Blue and Enamel Navy are out, which even though a little fruity, the Ice Blue looks cool.
Does anyone else have a Nintendo DS (Lite)? If so, what games do you recommend I buy?
I saw Age of Empires at Wal-Mart, is it even close to the PC version? |

After not owning a handheld gaming system since the original Nintendo Game Boy, I picked up a Nintendo DS Lite this past Sunday and I am quite happy with it. I purchased three titles for it: New Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart DS, and The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (for the GBA.) No regrets there, either.
New Super Mario Bros. blends old and new Super Mario Bros. gameplay and is very entertaining.
Mario Kart DS is a good, fun time killer, and has the added benefits of online play (the ability to race against cutesy game characters with names like Dog Penis and Herpes is a major plus, in my book.)
The Minish Cap is reminiscent of The Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past, so, mission accomplished.
If you want some information on the DS version of Age of Empires: The Age of Kings, check out http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/927039.asp. I plan on getting it, as well. So, if you do buy it, grab a box of Kleenex, too, and prepare to relive the old days. (Now, if only Blizzard would license a release of Warcraft II on the Nintendo DS....)
Don't be a pansy and pick up the sterile white DS Lite; it'll go great with your handbag. Besides, people who have had the navy colored DS Lite shipped to them from Japan constantly complain about the prominent smudge marks and scratches due to the dark color. |
