The other day I was at Costco and passed by a Dish Network product that was being offered through Costco. I don't recall the exact specifics, but it included the Top 180 channel package, an HD DVR receiver (I believe the Dish Network DVR 921) for $49.95 or so and some other services/items. You could also get and additional HD DVR receiver for about $250.
I don't remember the monthly subscription cost, but I assume it's the normal price.
What really caught my attention was that it was for both new and existing customers. Normally these types of offers are for new subscribers only which end up pissing off all the existing customers. It was an 18 month contract, but I've been pleased with my service that I wouldn't plan on switching to DirecTV nor Adelphia cable before the end of the term.
Has anyone taken a look at this offer through Costco? I didn't take home a brochure or ask an employee for more info, but it seemed like a good deal to get yourself an HD-capable DVR through Dish Network for about $50.
I'd be on it, but I don't own an HDTV. |

Apparently this isn't a very good deal for me. As an existing Dish Network subscriber (through SBC/AT&T), I'd have to pay $299.99 in order to upgrade with the HD DVR option.
The promo code for this offer through Costco is "ETDHA," which after doing a quick search online I found that many other Dish Network resellers are offering this "deal."
I'm kinda disappointed in this offering from Costco. Normally they have great deals that you wouldn't normally regret, but this time they're providing me/us with a product/service that any other run-of-the-mill Dish Network reseller can provide.
