Yuma - Four Yuma Marines now face charges in connection with an alleged hit and run in Mexicali late last month. The Marines are accused of running over and then dragging an Imperial Valley man under their car.

23-year-old Charles Wong continues to recover in a San Diego hospital.

Meanwhile, four U.S. Marines based out of Marine Corps Air Station-Yuma, face attempted murder charges.

Lance Corporals Manuel Mercedes, William Luna, Alexander Tierney and Corporal Rufus Mccall are said to be connected to the incident.

However, MCAS won't confirm the names of the Marines.

Javier Lopez, the Wong family attorney, says the Mexicali District Attorney's Office is looking over Calexico's police report.

Lopez believes there's a big lack of communication between the Wong family, and MCAS-Yuma.

MCAS released this statement today: "We will be cooperating with the Mexican authorities to further their investigation. It's our understanding, we've contacted potential witnesses and they've been contacted by the lawyer and instructed not to discuss anything with our investigators."

I think it might be that they think that just because they are marines, and part of one of the most powerful militaries in the world, that they could do whatever they want and get away with it. They might, but when they go around hurting people, then it is a different story. They make the country look like it's some kind of evil place that takes over places and tortures the people. I question if they will really be punished.

I have my own horror story. I use to know this dude, we went clubbing every now and then. He got into an argument with three guys over there who were hitting on his girl.I just watched and stood behind him. All of a sudden everyone started punching each other. I had a couple of drinks so I don't remember who started punching first. But one of them had an ice pick and the other a knife. My frieng got stabbed in the back and got a punctured lung. Then two more guys came. I just said fuck it and threw him in the car, me and his girl ran in and we sped off to the border, he had to be airlifted to SD.

mexicali night life kicks ass. La Uni Irish Pub is the best bar in mexicali. RA is burnt out but everyone still goes tehre so it's hte place to be...i love mex.
