The new My Buddy's Place in Imperial is getting wack. They're starting to charge a $5 cover and it gets ridiculously packed by 11:30 p.m. (if not sooner). You can't even order a drink at the bar because of all the people there, and drunk motherfuckers keep bumping into you while you're trying to enjoy whatever drink you do happen to have. I bailed from My Buddy's Place tonight and enjoyed a couple of drinks at the good ol' Owl Cafe in downtown El Centro. The one good thing I'll say about My Buddy' s Place is that it's made the Owl a little less crowded, which makes my ordering drinks a whole lot easier.

Is this referred to as Supply and Demand?

The signage of this place totally screams out strip joint.

Yeah, that sucks when it's too crowded, but what can you really do when a place becomes the new hot spot?

Maybe there's a maximum capacity limit that might have to be looked at? Everyone needs their own personal space and no man should come between you and their drink.

I wish we had a place in Calexico like The Owl.

There's actually a sign hanging by the bar at My Buddy's Place that says the maximum capacity is 250 people. I've been there when there's been 500-600 people packed inside. It's insane! They need to give the security guards at the front door counters so they know how many people they are letting in and how many are leaving.

Last time I was in the valley, I picked up a friend at that place. I spent about 2 minutes in there and then got out of there. Man, talk about the new hangout for the Holtville and Brawley jocks with the big trucks.

I'll stick to the my new favorite hangout, The Tower Bar. Located in the middle of the SD ghetto, it hosts a bunch of local rock-and-roll, punk, old school country, and rockabilly bands. Also, it's home of the "Pabst Smear", a combination of Guinness and Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Any of my fellow C.commies down to meet there for a drink? Boracho

I'm a bit lost. On the internet, it's hard to tell if someone's sarcastic or serious.

I was serious, i.e. I agree.
