Just like the meseros and their crooked deals, it's a culture that the club owners brought from southern mexico. The "cadeneros de antros" tend to be very discrimitative in other mexican cities and will reject you for almost no reason if they don't like you. In Mexico City, they will not let you in if you are dark and short to some "vip" clubs but will treat you with courtesy if you are light skinned even if you are poorly dressed. |
