Any recommendations or suggestions regarding visiting Big Bear this season to do some snowboarding?
I've never snowboarded or skied and have probably been in the snow once in my lifetime, so this would be a completely new experience for me.
I understand Big Bear is in peak season at the moment, so for beginners is it recommended that I pick up a day pass for both the admission and ski lifts or just go with the half-day/evening option?
Lodging: Any suggestions for where to stay? Maybe a cabin for a group of 6-8 people, possibly 10? I'm not exactly looking for luxury, but someplace warm for the night.
Any advice is kindly appreciated. |

Go during the midweek and they have package deals for ski lift and lodging. Some of the cabins are pretty grungy so don't be afraid for inspection before paying. Be sure and take a lesson as part of the package. TAke your own booze and food because the resort is expensive.
www.bigbear.com. Rememebr the high altitude changes the way food boils/cooks; conditioning and other factors. If the weather is bad...chains will be required...stop in Indio or Palm Desert and rent some. |

| it is a good place to learn how to snowboard or ski, since it is almost always ice. i hate the place since it takes me just over a minute to get to the bottom of the hill that is why i go to austria where i used to live |
