For the valley, Calexico is pretty fuckin' expensive. We have the highest sales tax rate, probably the most expensive housing, and definitely the most expensive gas. It also doesn't help that all the people from Mexicali seem to buy their gas here too, causing ridiculously long lines at the gas station.
So there doesn't seem to be anything we can really do about the gas prices, unless you drive up to Imperial and fill up at Costo (which doesn't make sense, since prices now are about 1 penny less and you drive 15 miles to get there). So what to do?
Well, in San Diego there's a local Web site, http://www.fueltracker.com, that is updated on a weekly basis, sometimes more frequently, which maps out all the gas stations and their current prices... making it convenient to find the cheapest gas station in your area. There's nothing similar locally to help out, so the least we can do now is post the most consistent cheapest gas stations here (if there are any).
Now take into consideration fees such as ATM usage. For example, even if AM/PM (Arco) was the cheapest by a good amount, you might end up ruling it out because of their ATM usage fee of $0.35 (might be higher now). This defeats the purpose of driving a little bit further to get "the cheapest gas." |

well in calexico, if i have cash i go to Am/Pm for gas, at Night usually to avoid any lines. BUt if i have to use atm or credit i either go to 7-eleven by rally's or Fast strip, for the old school They usually cost about 2 cents more then am/pm but the atm fee is a pain. |
