Yes, the doctors/emergency rooms will be full of sick people; nonstop ambulances; Prozac for the depressed and the suicide telephone lines will be busy. Thank goodness for Jehovah Witnesses who don't celebrate the holidays. Yes, Channukah and XMAS will be the same day.

Do your holiday shopping at EL REMATE and SANTO TOMAS and save on paying sales tax.

Yes, you don't pay sales tax as a consumer, but the businesses still do have to pay local sales tax come April.

Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?
I didn't red the piece in the SD Union but I think I know what's about (or at least one point).
President Bush (and his wife) sent out greeting cards that read "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas"; some republicans may feel unhappy about it, but the thing is that those cards are printed with the money of all americans not only the ones who are christians. Separation of church and state calls for that: you cannot use the money fo taxes to advance any religion.
So just say "merry christmas"; and even if He was not born dec 25, to celebrate His birth is to remember that God sent His Son to this planet so He could die in humanity's place.
But if you happen to be a public official don't uses tax money to advance any specific religion. It is just fair play.....justice for all. People from other religions, when receiveing a card from the Bush couple, will not be offended by something that may not have meaning for them. If theY (The Bushes) were paying the card with their own money...then they can write whatever they want on them.
good day all.

What attack on Christmas? There is no attack on Christmas. The whole controversy comes from the disregard to the rest of the world. If you have a big sign that says "Merry Christmas" hanging outside your school or government building, then you're sending the message, "We endorse Christianity." That is what's offending people.

I can't stand all these Christians and Catholics that are taking this as an attack on their faith, when what this is really is an attempt to level the playing field for all religions.

Oh and about the whole meaning of Christmas. The meaning of Christmas is to defeat your neighbor in the quest to get the new, "Give Me A Colonoscopy Elmo."
