| No, no, no!!! Miss understdood me, I don't mean to stop buying gifts, but to remember what the true meaning of Christmas is. What is it? Gifts are a part of Christmas, but what part, that is all I mean with my statement. |

| It is not the biggest part, and that is why our society is the way it is. Because we have all forgotten about the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas is really about giving, not receiving. |

| I thought CHRISTmas was all about remembering that Jesus christ was born and not about giving gifts. I dont see anything wrong with giving gifts as long as you remember the true meaning of christmas. |

OK, so if this holiday is about "giving, not receiving" then who exactly is receiving?
Someone's got to be on the receiving end, if someone is giving! |

I think that we all know that Jesus was not born on Christmas day, yet the need to celebrate His Birthday is important, hence we have Christmas Day and celebrate His birthday on December 25th. I believe that Jesus was born sometime during the Fall, but His actually birthday is not important, what is important is that we celebrate.
About the whole present thing, the important thing is that we give of ourselves as God gave His Son for us. Whoever it is that receives the gifts should be those whom we love and want to give something to. So far as we give because he want to and not because we have too. |

I just heard about this on the Today Show. Sounds like Christians just want it their way and don't give a squat about the minority religions, but little do they know they will soon be the minority.
It's a holiday. You don't work that day, regardless of your beliefs, and if you do you usually get paid double-time. Those who don't work spend time with their friends and family and that would be the best part about it.
In a world where 50 Cent plays bar mitzvahs, it's all about the Benjamins... and marketing. Calling Christmas a Holiday is all inclusive of everyone and that just means more dollars being spent to stimulate the economy and fighting terrorism.
So just let it go, if you can, because in the end you'll be the one in heaven, right? While the rest of these pagans are burning in the pits of hell. |
