I hope this is the beginning of a yearly hiking expedition put together by Calecia.com and it's founding members. I would also like to thank the companies who sponsored our trip by providing drinks and food for our treck. Unfortunately Calecia.com's oficial camera got fucked up and we were unable to take pics to share with those few of you who were unable to go with us. Hope to see you all again in our next trip! |
What, no pics...I say you didn't really go!!! |
Actually, we did, but didn't have the proper vehicle to ride into the starting point and our horses ran away.
We ended up going to La Rumorosa and having a fine time there. We ate at Lalo's tacos de vapor, drove around through dirt roads through the outskirts of the town, visited Rancho Picacho which was quite amazing, and got pulled over by the local police for being from out of town.
We also checked out la Casa de Piedras, which the house itself was a disappointment, but the view from 4,000+ feet in the air was "breath taking."
So, no, we didn't climb La Centinela, but we will at a later date. And we do have pics, but the photographer is being a bit lazy at the moment.
Like pato said, "Hope to see you all in our next trip!" which will be next month. |

| If the Calecia.com trip never materializes, it'd be a good idea to just join another expedition from another organization just like the one that elchrist posted. Those are great pictures, and this guy that has over 150 ascends is really awesome; I'd really like to join these guys. |

I agree. It doesn't matter who we climb it with as long as we get to do it.
Mt. Signal shouldn't be too difficult to ascend though. I recently got to climb a volcano that was at least twice the height. It was a bit difficult since some areas were steep and at times you could feel the heat from inside the rock, but there was a pre-teen kid around who climbed it as well.
Maybe if we decide to watch the sunrise from atop Mt. Signal then we should go with an experienced climber mainly because it'll be dark and we won't have a clue as to where the trail(s) are. |
