Remember KangaRoos? Those shoes with pockets?

Or what about those hats with flaps on the back (ala foreign legion) that we used to put band logo pins on?

And Levi jackets with band patches?

What fads do you remember from your childhood?

Hey man, I remember KangaRoos. I used to wear those when I was growing up.
Those were no fad. I'm still looking for a pair of those, and if I can find a pair, I'm gonna buy them and wear them.

Does anyone know where I can find a pair?

Sometimes I need to hide a quarter and the 5th pocket in my pants won't cut it.

This band caught on so much that my father being part of the company brought home some with the Bud of California logo on it

In 1983 or 84, I begged my parents to by me a pair of pants that I wanted that were like $60. I was like 9 years old. I begged for about a month, and I finally got them to say 'yes'. Anyway, we go to the mall and walk into a store called Chess King. I pick out my pants, and I have to start begging again, because after one look at the pants my parents were like, "hell, no!" Anyway, my little berinche pays off.

As soon as I get home, I run to my room to go try the pants on. I look in the mirror, and I'm really proud of my new pants, then my older brother walks in, and starts laughing his ass off. As I hear him laughing at me, I stare into the mirror wearing my brand new pair of RED parachute pants, with black zippers, and a tear rolls down my cheek. A second later I take off my brand new pants and put them away, forever.

Do any of you remember video disc players? Not DVD players, but those old things that played those huge plastic discs that came out before Beta. I'm sure a lot of you are too young to even remember Beta. They're the equivalent to what an LP is to audio nowadays, except without the nostalgic memories attached to it.

I got a used video disc player, and two movies (Raiders of the Lost Arc and Trading Places) for my 8th grade graduation. I remember I had a tough time finding discs for my player. No stores rented them, anymore, and the only place I could find that sold them was Dobb's, in El Centro (yeah, that place doesn't exist anymore either), and they only sold used discs, and the selection (as you can imagine) wasn't very big either.

I think you're making it up.

By the way, any of you ever get suckered into buying a laser disc player? I remember a friend of mine had one and it sucked watching movies at his house because you needed to change the disc every half and hour. What an expensive piece of crap. Poomouth

Yeah, I remember video discs. They were the 8-tracks of digital video. Fed-Mart had a shitload of them.
