I remember when I was in Junior High, I decided that I was going to read the Grapes of Wrath for a book report. Being a cocky Jr High kid that was in G.A.T.E., honors, and all those other "gifted" classes, I figured that it wouldn't be a hard book to read even though it was HUUUUUGE!

I started reading it and never got page 7. Not only was the book long, but it was boring. Steinbeck used way too many descriptions about trees, the grass, and the racoon taking a shit in chapter 3.

I tried to fake my book report by asking someone what it was about, but when confronted by the teacher about it, he asked me what the name of the main character was. I was stumped. Damn I regret ever trying to read that book.

The Grapes of Wrath is definitely not a book I recommend to people, unless you're a stickler for detail. Then god be with you.

I was in the same type of situation, After being shitted on for reading this book i really dug, it was called Apollo, it was just about the greek god and advantures he had been in. What happened is that Mrs. Rodriguez, Bitch Evil or Very Mad

, said, "that is why this isn't a good book to read, because it doesn't have a begining middle end" I was like fuck her! I hate her.
Then to show that i could read Lit. i picked out a Jules Vernes book about, i have no fucking clue, i read like 4 unmeroable chapters. talk about losing an interest to read. Teachers are supposed to get into things, that bitch made me hate reading, luckily i found the joy in it after high school reading suck greats as, Catcher in the Rye, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and Horny house wives tell their tales.

Now that's literature, FUCK YOU MRS. RODRIGUEZ! Fuck you!
