I was watching an NFL game on the local CBS (channel 13) last weekend and it claimed the broadcast was in High Definition.

Now, I don't have an HD-capable television set, so I have no real clue if it was true.

If it is, I think only certain shows are broadcast this way. The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is claimed to be in HD.

Thanks man...the thing is, that the same HD logo underneath says "were available" so it means that they might not have it in the area, I know they have it on adelphia cable in some locations, but they told me that the digital cable hook up is not available in all areas of calexico, so who knows....maybe someone who works for the cable company might know, I'll keep on looking for info.

You're right. I didn't pay much attention since my TV doesn't support it anyway.

I have Dish Network and they have optional HD programming.

I'm personally waiting for next year when more HD programming is supposed to come out and the price of HD-ready screens will drop due to more and more unpopular manufacturers continuing to release lower priced items into the market.

THere is HDTV available through Adelphia. You need some special box. The sad thing is it's expensivo and there are only a handful of channels to choose from right now. If you have digital cable, go backward from Channel 2 and the HD stations will come up in the late 600s. LIke I said, there are only a few, and I think all the networks are there (CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox) and like one HBO and one SHowtime, maybe even ESPN, I can't remember right now.

Anyways, you can get a grip of HD channel, also for a ridiculous price, through Direct TV.

Dish Network currently has 5 HD channels in ESPN HD, Discovery HD Theater, TNT in HD, HDNet and HDNet Movies. This package is $9.99 more.

Also available from Dish are HBO HDTV, Showtime HDTV, CBS HDTV and Dish Network PPV in HD, but I don't know how much more that is.

Dish Network is also offering VOOM for $5 a month, supposedly free for the first 6 months. That's another 15 HD channels.

I forgot the story about VOOM, but I do remember something about it being created with the intention for it to fail to only benefit Dish Network and I believe DirecTV. Sounds like BS, I know.
