That land is zoned for commercial development, but who knows when? I also have unconfirmed reports that Mervyns is coming to Calexico at the Food4Less shopping center. Did someone mention that IHOP is coming to Calexico? Where and When? You have apartments being built in the 1000 BLK of Meadow Drive, and coming soon at Clinton and Cole. |
I was told by the ladies that run the offices for the hearthstone houses that the area that was fenced off and had a trailer on was not there's. Therefore they thought that something was already in the works.... Thats why i asked.
I have this strong idea that Mervin's if it will be built in calexico would end up closing shop in EC. Do know that ever since the mall opened and sears moved out of that mall in EC, mervyn's looks like a a ghost town. I think that instead of a mervyn's they should of built a Kohl's.. better quality clothes and cheaper prices... but mervyn's is a good thing. IHOP is supposed to be built over in that same area but i dont know if it will end up being in front of the Starbucks or if IHOP has abandoned the whole concept.... I will ask them and let you guys know... Are the apartment community being built at Cliton and Cole high end?? or is it going to be like the ones being built behind the Circle K for low income???
Also what ever happened to that strip mall being built in that same area where Circle K is?? any new info on that? |

For once, I agree with you locoinclx. I think that closing the Mervyn's in El Centro is the only way that one could succeed in Calexico. |

I've been to a Kohl's in Yuma (I think) and it blows. Similar to Mervyn's, but more rejected clothing.
I wouldn't step back into a Kohl's unless they had 501s at 25% the retail cost. |

I once got levy's for 20 bucks there... is that cheap for you? You know how it is... the way the store is, is dictated by the way its employees are.... |
