So the Smiths turned down $5M dollars to reunite at this year's Coachella festival.
Don't they know they prefer to get paid in pounds?... in the bum, that is.
Damn, I'm funny. |

Expect to waste equal amounts of time in line for beer (if you're old enough) as you will for restrooms. Expect to overpay for food and drinks. If there are two bands you really want to see, expect them to both be playing at the same time, at opposite ends of the festival. If you find a place to sit by a band you want to see, sit there and don't move; your lower back will hurt from standing around forever while you wait for the each band to get their act together. Unless you "like all kinds of music," expect a lot of downtime while the crappy bands play; go make fun of the weirdos -- send us the pictures. No lighters allowed, and they're gonna take your bottled water away, too. Expect to not be able to find your vehicle in the parking lot at the end of the night. |

Just out of curiosity, do you speak from experience?
Even in some of the previous years where bands that I like have played, it still hasn't been the least bit enticing. I don't know, I'm just not a big fan of music festivals. The reality is that in every music festival we could go to, out of the 50+ bands that will play we'll probably be there to see maybe 4 (and I'm being generous). We (and I am guilty of this also) use the rationale that "Well, if I'm paying 100 bucks for this, its worth it because there's 3 or 4 bands I want to see, which would ususally charge about 30 bucks to see them individually".
So for all of you that are going, I guess make the best of it and have fun. In all honesty, I don't recommend you go to this or any other music festival in the future. |
