H&R Block in Calexico under new management

I received a letter in the mail today from H&R Block in Calexico informing me that this local office is now under new management. The new franchisee is Birgit G. Klockmann of the Brawley, Blythe and El Centro offices. The letter also mentions that H&R Block will be moving to a new location in front of Food 4 Less.

It looks like Alan and Oralia Meyer may have retired from the business. My parents have been doing their taxes at H&R Block for ages and I remember as a kid picking the finished envelope and always seeing Mrs. Meyer smile. Even back when they were located on Second St. inbetween Mike's Place and the Garden/Jardin Adult book store. (Is that Old School Calecia?)

This couple is really nice and friendly and I even started doing my own income taxes there mainly because of their helpfulness. It always amazed me how she remembered me as I walked in even after years of not setting foot inside the office.

I also remember all the old framed photographs of Pancho Villa and other old-time Mexican artifacts inside the office. I hope they took those with them and would suggest some type of cultural arts center in Calexico later house them so that people can remember certain places and people from this town.

So long Meyers, at least work-wise. Pleasure doing business with ya.

Mrs. Meyer is the best, too bad that they wont do my families taxes anymore.. even when i moved to LA i kept comming back to calexico just so that she could do my taxes... this is a great loss to calexico and i hope that they have a great retirement together... Kudos to you Mr. and Mrs. Meyer.... and thanks for helping out in the community... Smile

Turns out Meyers & Meyers is still in business at the same location as always, except they do not have the H&R Block franchise anymore.
