Like I mentioned before, the City of Calexico dropped the ball on marketing when Intel came out with Centrino (codename: Calexico). They could have possibly had Intel roll out a city-wide wireless network for the citizens and we'd all be rockin' and rollin'.

Great PR for Intel and major boost in moral for Calecianos.

I think that since they are building a tech center in Calexico over at the Carnegie Library, they should also consider having the entire city wifi... the residents and everyone who would want access to the city would pay something ridiculous like 15 bucks a month for high speed internet... What do you guys think???

Not gonna happen if you expect the city to take initiative on this...but Calecia.com should apply to this grant for rural wireless access from the FCC http://www.calecia.com/discussions/viewtopic.php?p=21431&highlight=#21431

I can help with the WiFi deployment. WiFi is actually one of my hobbies. Lets get a bunch of access points and hang them up on the light poles and create a mesh network. Noice.
