Hi,

I have some friends who are coming to the valley for the weekend. Any recommendations of where to go or what to do in the valley or over at the border?

Are there any interesting sighseeing places around the valley? Does anyone know if one can see the sunrise in the valley? We tried several locations in San Diego County but failed..

thanks

One of the things you can do is go to the "Haunted" Heber School (I just got back from there...) I suggest you get a good parking space, as well as flashlights and bug spray. You can also go to the Heber Dunes and have some fun. Then there's always the mall, and finally....MEXICALI

Go check out the (new) art gallery/museum in Mexicali on Blvd. Rio Nuevo.

I haven't been to it myself, but it looks nice from the outside.

Haunted House? thats a good idea..but how can I get there??

oh yeah, I heard there is this place where you can park your car in Neutral (the slope is downhill) and your car keeps moving uphill by itself.. does anyone know how to get there???

Inkopah Road. It's right before the last curve into the Desert View Tower.

I was just there this past weekend and this gravity hill still works, but somehow it wasn't that entertaining since I had a few doubters who kept insisting that it was really going downhill and it was all an illusion. Rolling Eyes

Well since it's hot as hell here in the valley, you might want to take them up to San Diego (unless your visitors are from there). I've never stopped at the observation tower and I've been meaning too for a long time, but that seems cool, you can try that. You can also go up the tramway in Palm Springs and cool off for the day. If it's something local that you wanna do, check out the Soles schedule and you can have a good time at a basketball game in Mexicali, or head up to the Rumorosa for some tacos al vapor, or tecate and walk around the central park and eat and have a few drinks there. The possibilities are endless, just depends what you and your visitors are into.
