The wheels are set into motion and cingular's arrival to Calexico is at hand. The logical thing is that they will install themselves near Starbucks but now it seems that they will be on First street.

Whatever the location is, the arrival of Cingular is inminent.

Oh, this is lovely. Let's see how good of a reception they pick up right next to the USA-Mexico international border.

MX TELCEL
MX MOVISTAR

From what I've heard, Sprint seems to be the best in our area because you get reception all the way into Mexicali. For sure up to el Nido. So if you're getting reception all the way into Mexicali, then you don't have much to worry about with roaming on MX TELCEL or MX MOVISTAR.

With Cingular, I get international roaming miles into Calexico.

That's why I'm so surprised that Cingular is said to open a store on First Street. Obviously they haven't done any research and my constant bitching and complaining hasn't alerted them about this mistake. I can assure you the top regional PR people for Cing are aware of the problem, but obviously haven't improved service for us.

Maybe they plan to install a repeater on top of their store? I just don't know.

At the last city council meeting, Marlene Best and the Cingular People were negotiating a property on East First street. They discussed that on Closed Session so it will be impossible to know what they spoke.

I went to Starbucks last sunday and I notice that the inside of the new builidngs is not done. Maybe thats why they are moving to first. Who knows?

Someone please explain to me why a corporation speaks with local government and no citizen knows the details of the conversation?

Every topic is open to the public but negotiations with new business are considered legal matters. That's why Closed Session is used.

You might want to get the minutes to see if action was taken. If so, you can know what happens. After closed session is done, the mayor announces if there was action or no action taken after they come out of they out of close session. You might want to look into that.
