It looks like ChevronTexaco is trying to take over Calexico. It recently acquired Meadows Market on the corner of Meadows Ave. and Highway 98. I've also noticed that Americo, located near the corner of Cole Rd. and Highway 111, is being converted into a Texaco gasoline station.
Have these two local gasoline stations failed to due business or did ChevronTexaco give them offer they couldn't resist?
I remember Meadows Market was out of alcohol for quite some time due to an liquor license suspension and maybe that hurt them in the long run, but are gasoline stations no longer a lucrative business for locals or is simply big oil stepping in? |

| Gasoline stations make their mula of the things they sell. They hardly make money on the actual gasoline they sell. There's only two people that benefit from the gas sold: Oil companies and President Bush. |

Right, so when one of them wasn't able to sell what sells best at convenience marts, it practically went kaput. |
