Does this really seem fair. Tenure teachers at the high school are having a boycott by calling in sick to work. They are only being offered a 4% increase why do these pigs get to have 10% and everyone is glad because "the police department was tearing apart" over this issue. They're going to get paid more to be assholes at least some teachers actually make a difference, key word SOME

I'd have to agree that giving the PD Officers a 10% raise is a bit unfair. I mean, what do these guys actually do? The City of Calexico is currently looking to hire a pre-service Police Officer with monthly salary ranging between 2-3K(approximately). It isn't much for potentially risking your life but COME ON!! It isn't brain surgery.

I don't know what the whole deal with the teachers and their strike is but it needs to be sorted out fast. The people who will bear the consequences of this are the students and the school district. Mars had a point about some teachers leaving the valley to get paid more in other areas. The thing to do is to try and keep the good teachers here in the valley and prevent this Brain Drain or else Calexico students and the district will keep digging themselves deeper into this hole.

How many bank robberies?

Seriously, what danger. Obviously there has to be some great threat because every time they pull someone over they have to call the entire force.

Guy runs a red, and there's like 5 cop cars.

Hell yeah! we need credit for that shit or at least an honorable mention. But still it is true, Cops are assholes, maybe it is rookie cops. Fucking dicks.

Hey, I saw this caucasian cop, in front of a burger joint here in Calexico, harrassing one of the waitresses of the restaurant. He was saying, "Hey! Hey!" until she turned around. Then she looked to see what he had to say, because, after all, he was a police officer and you have to pay attention to them, right? He didn't say anything, like he froze up. As she started walking away he said, "Hey!" again. This time she ignored him and kept walking. As soon as she was about to walk in the door of the place, he says, "Ah, cummon, I don't even get a look? I see how it is." Not only is this guy pathetic, but he's also abusing his authority. He was in his police car, leaving the place, when this happened. This dumbass did this in front of a few people that were outside. Talk about not giving a shit. So, if you see a 30-35 yr old white balding cop, around 6ft to 6ft 2in tall, it's probably him.

By the way, I read that article also, and I was thinking the same thing. It's all been said here, first!

I got pulled over today by Calexico's finest.

Infraction, turning right at a stop light, and getting into the bicycle lane.
Officer approach me and said that I had commited an infraction and that I almost hit his side mirror.

After asking me if I had been drinking, and replying No occifer, he said "I'm going to give you a warning, but next time..."
