Dude, Where's My Chronic? Last night on radio's syndicated show Loveline with Adam Carolla and Dr. Drew, guest Tommy Chong revealed he's in final negotiations to bring a Cheech & Chong reunion movie to the big screen as early as next year. That sounds about right. You don't want do a reunion movie too soon, and 2003 will mark 25 years.
Initially, he says, his costar and pal Cheech Marin balked at the idea, because there wasn't as much money in it for him as he wanted. That's no longer an issue. Not only does Tommy say there's big money, his daughter Rae Dawn Chong wrote a worthy script and, he promises, Cheech & Chong will pick up their peace pipes where the fun left off in Up in Smoke. |

Suck or not, I'll watch it. I like Cheech and Chong.
But, there is no way this movie will be good, both these guys are past their primes,and everything they've ever done seperately (except for Born In East L.A.) was awful. And about Chong's daughter, I don't think she's ever done anything that was good. |

I just read a similar article this morning.
I really think that it's going to be up to Cheech Marin to make this a good and funny movie. Tommy Chong and the rest of his family are has-beens and only make everything they appear in lame.
I'm a little worried about Chong's daughter producing it. |

They're making another Cheech and Chong movie.
Besides the last one they made wasn't all that great anyway |

The only good Cheech and Chong movie that was funny all throughout was Up In Smoke. The rest of the movies are OK, if not horrible.
The real point is that both Cheech and Chong are in it for the money this time. They initially decided to make this movie because they discovered that a lot of people were making money of bootlegged merchandise and therefore seeked legal assistance. It wasn't until that then they seemed to both agree to make a new movie.
Thankfully New Line Cinema is doing it and not (30th Century) Fox. We all know how Fox likes doing reunions. |
