I've been thinking about becoming a member. For one person the fee is $46 with a $20 admission fee. Each additional person is anywhere between $23 and $26. I checked out their site which explains all of the benefits you obtain by being a member.
I also noticed that the standard membership is practically worthless. Al you really seem to get is one free tow per year (up to 7 miles), and up to $60 credit for a locksmith. Which I guess sounds like a lot, but how often do you really need these things?
Unless you get one of their "Plus" or "Premier" memberships, it doesn't really seem worth it. Their web site doesn't really say anything about how much these packages cost, so I'm assuming it's more than it's really worth.
I've never been a member of AAA, so I don't really know how it works, and when I called customer service, the guy kept telling me to go to the web-site (some customer service), which doesn't really give you a whole lot of good information.
Is anyone a member? Is it worth it? |

I had AAA with my dad once and I thought it was worth it. Not only do you get free tows and awesome discount at all your favorite hotels, but you a lot of little things.
For example, I was in San Diego with my wife and I lost the keys to my car. I lost my car keys in San Diego. I called every place in the Yellow Pages and nobody worked weekends or made keys for Hondas. I decided to call AAA and in 30 minutes there was a locksmith on the scene and in ten minutes I had a new key at no charge to me. How freaking cool was that? The cool thing was it doesn't have to be your car. If you're driving it or riding in it AAA covers the person not the car.
If I were you I would try it for at leat a year. |
