The Crest was an old school movie theater that had 3 screens. It closed down in the last few months of 1999 (or sometime close to it) if I remember correctly.

I had heard that it was supposed to be reopening sometime soon as part of the whole downtown renovation.

If the Crest in El Centro is the one on Main St. is the one I'm thinking about, it's in really bad shape from what I've heard. From flooding in the basements to rats (and other critters) living down there, it could need a lot of restoration if this is really the case.

I thought the Barefoot Lawyer lived there too.

The last time I remeber going to the Crest was a midnight showing of the Matrix. My friends knew one of the managers and he let us see the movie a week before it opened. That was the last time I went to the crest.

The last movie I saw at the Crest was Army of Darkness.

I didn't even know what the hell I was about to watch, but was invited to go to the movies in El Centro. Little did I know this would end up being one of my favorite movies of all time.

Thanks ET/T1000.
