The Fourth of July will actually be celebrated in Calexico on the 3rd. This was done last year as well, so it seems like it'll be a tradition in Calexico to honor the United States' independence on this day.

If the fireworks show is anything like the one from the Mariachi Festival this year, then it's going to be pretty impressive.
Can anyone guess how many kids will get injured by holding a megaton too long in their hand? |

| Well we will see how the fireworks are this year in Calexico. Calexico's "Finest" will also be there of course trying to get digits off hot looking gals at the park. If you have complaints against these guys go to their website. [/b] |

| For those that were on the west lawn of Crummet Park, it was raining fire at times. Pretty cool, except if one landed on your hair. Hope no one sprayed on a can of Aquanet. |

The fireworks show was good. In fact it was similar, but felt shorter, to last year's which I thought was quite impressive in comparison to what we've had in previous years.
I'd like to seem them one year coordinate the display with some music.
The only real complain is all the damn car alarms that go off. Seems like you just can enjoy a good old fireworks show without a few cars going off themselves.

Didn't notice any problems with the cops. |

| we walked over to the beer garden around fireworks time and they were giving away free beer. after about two or three beers, one cop serrano went in and yelled out to the vendor and some drinkers "no more beer, that's it. Dont serve anymore beer" They sure made their presence at the park. that cop thinks he's all hard, someone needs to check him. "didnt you hear me, put it back, put it back" Damn, homeboy got all worked up on a extra cup of beer at the garden. then he called backup and about 6 backups rushed to scope out the garden. it was all good though, gave us something extra to laugh about for the rest of the night. |

Dude, if you couldn't drink the free beer, wouldn't you make a big stink about it too?
So why were they giving away free beer? Does the city have that much money to throw away nowadays? |

someone in the beer garden told my cousin that they had made over $2,000 on beer. Since it was around 1045-11pm when we walked in there, i think that guy serving the beer (super shopping guy) had the tables half full of beer cups and just wanted to get rid of them instead of throwing away. By that time, not many people were around the garden. So we got a good treat thanks to the Moreno guy. but once that one cop saw what was going on, he came in to put an end to the free beer. dont know if the city has that much money but they certainly had enough beer to go around for free that night. that cop had a power trip or something. i guess he's one of the top guns in the force but to serve and protect he did not but disturb and forget he did.
I didnt know the beer profits went to the city, i thought they went to the beer vendors? how are those profits distributed? if so, then the people who sell tostadas give their profit to the city too? or is it just the beer? |
