I haven't washed my car in months... The interior is caked with dust and grime... The leather seats need to be cleaned and treated as one of them is now water stained... The shine to my car is no more...

I'm a filthy and lazy animal.

Where can I take my car to get professionally detailed with someone who can actually do a professional job?

Go to El Centro, in the corner of Main and 8th. They'll thoroughly clean the exterior and interior, and charge about 10 bucks extra to get it waxed. Prices may vary according to the size of your vehicle, but it's pretty fairly priced. I drive one of those compact SUV's and it costs me 17 bucks to get it washed. They do a pretty good job.

In my personal opinion, I wouldn't recommend taking it anywhere. I've never had a good experience taking my car anywhere to get washed. Something is always done incorrectly. Whether it's water marks, or them scratching something, or swearing they did something (like vacuuming) when they really didn't.

DIY.

Oh and by the way, wearing leather chaps whenever you get in your car doesn't make the seats leather.

I agree that DIY is probably the best way to go in the Imperial and Mexicali valleys, but when your car is filthy inside and out (as I'm sure yours is) you have to pay someone to do it. I'm trying to find out which is the best place to take it to because I know there is a high percentage risk of your car being damaged if it's done by some incompetent human being.

I can deal with washing my car as I don't really find it to be a hassle, but I don't like spending 2-3 hours in the heat getting it spick-and-span. Maybe I can hire you to get it spic-and-span.

I promise after getting my car detailed, I will clean it more frequently on my own. I just need a pick-me-up.

My seats are made of leather chaps.

I've taken my car there before and they do a good job, but I've never had a detail done. I've been told Palm Springs have some really good places. I guess you have to go where the money is.

There's a place behind the Main and 8th car wash in an alley that I completely suggest no one goes to. I had a horrible experience once that cause me much pain and suffering. Thank you pato for the recommendation. Wink

I took my car for a wash to this alley place before lunch one day expecting it to be done within 2-3 hours, as promised. 4 o'clock came along and no word about my car and since they had no telephone number (that I was aware of), I had no way to find out the status. I was thinking about taxying over to find out WTF was going on, when I got a hold of pato who passed by around 5 PM and reported back that my car was flat and unwashed.

WTF?!
