They all suck. Buy a home gym set.
If you had to choose I would go with Jaque's N' Jill's. It's abit pricey, but they offer the most from all the gyms in the valley.

Good answer. At least at home you can play whatever music you want as loud as you want and you don't have people leaving the weight benches or equipment all sweaty and dirty. Maybe one day the Valley can advance to a 24 HR Fitness or something modern.

There was/is a rumor about a 24 Hour Fitness being opened in the old JC Penny building in El Centro.

I'm doing the same, except that I'm starting with buying an elliptical trainer first and then hopefully adding more in the future.

Right now I'm looking at the NordicTrack Elliptical CX 998, which is available at Sears and is on sale for about $800. Too me this is quite expensive, but after reading up on various elliptical machines, including tread mills, it seems that you get what you pay for.

I hit up Sears the other day to test out their floor models and this one seemed to be the sturdiest of them all, especially with all the abuse they probably receive from customers. The Pro Form elliptical trainer was very loud (creaked a lot), but was about half the price. I was tempted to get this one at first.

I also found out that most of the "low-end" workout equipment available at Sears, Wal-Mart, K-mart, etc. are manufactured by ICON Health & Fitness, but are branded by companies such as NordicTrack, Pro Form, Reebok, Healthrider, Weider, Gold's Gym and others. Reading up on ICON fitness, many consumers found the manufacturing was shoddy at times, possibly due to their construction in China. Many recommended getting the extended warranty if you were serious about purchasing one.

I most likely will, if I cannot find a better solution soon.
