Over the past year there has been a huge emphasis on Spyware. I kind of ignored it for a while since it was too trendy for me.

For a while I'd been using Ad-aware (I know Ad-aware isn't for Spy-ware), and recently started using Spybot. I have to admit that I noticed a huge difference in the performance of my machine.

One thing I was wondering was, should I stop using Ad-aware? I've heard from some people that it can actually be harmful to your computer. Those people weren't too credible, so I've got to double check.

Just like you ignored reading the same installation instructions that caused any adware to be installed on your computer? Wink

I'll be the first one on Calecia.com to admit that Microsoft AntiSpyware is the best solution out there for eliminated spyware. It's still in beta, but it works well at removing existing spyware, adware, etc. while monitoring your computer system for unauthorized changes and so forth.

It checks for the latest spyware definitions and software updates as it runs as a background process. The system tray icon is pretty cool too, which is a major plus.

Since it's still in beta, I won't recommend that anyone installs it, but it's been doing the job for me since it was released to the public.

You've been talking to the wrong people about this subject.
