| They will have a friends and family day on May 26th and the official first day of business is on the 27th. Do we qualify as friends here at C.com? |

| Is anyone going to complain about how Starbucks will force the local cafes to close down? Or how it will destroy the coffee monopoly in Calexico? |

| starbucks will definitely attract some sections of society such as the elite and other wannabes, but I don't think this place is going to overcome other shops that sell coffe for $1, $1.50. Maybe a place like "temptations" may be affected but not the other ones. |

I don’t they will be affected. I have talked to the owner and he gets most of his business from people crossing on foot and field workers early in the morning, plus he does catering.
I don’t think people coming across on foot will walk across town for a cup of coffee and conchita. |

That's just what we need: The Starbucks Conchita. |
