i'm sorry if i still sound like a sore loser, but wtf, yo!
singling out one person? i didn't know they did that. took down posters? gimme a break. yes,i know it was a long time ago, but i didn't know shit like that went down.
i hope calexico likes what it gets when corporate america fucks this city up ever more. no personality, no charm. just a bunch of chain stores. gag. |
Welcome to the real world.
What you see as corporate America, I see capitalism. If you do not like it then there is always Cuba.
I cannot believe that your so naive as to not know how our political system works.
Corporate America is what Calexico needs. Plain and simple. Out with the mom and pop store and give me another Jack. |
i know how our political system works. yes, that's capitalism at its finest. sad, but true.
it just makes me wonder why they would use such tactics. i guess i'm naive in the sense where i think these guys are actual human beings with hearts. and why do people let them get away with it? is the only answer, "that's just how things work. we can't do anything about it." what a shitty answer.
it just gets a girl down. we're such a greedy country.
be careful. too many jacks and you'll have a heart attack. |

Greedy country, yes. Very, but remember that it is the people who are greedy.
Many people will never be happy because instead of looking at what they have they will be more concerned with what the Jones' are doing. |

Local politicians have been using these types of tactics since before we were even born, and we (the regular citzens) don't benefit in anyway. At least, when a corporation like Wal-Mart does it, I save money. |

| see the good side of it, this is like a no-mercy game in which you find the best advantage for yourself, at least you can save some money by buying there, that was the reason I voted for it. |

If you were asking one of the local owned shops a part-time job would do they care for you?? they just care about themselves. They would fire you when they don't need you anymore and they would always pay you minimum wage and possibly even less. |

Well sure, now that it's in place you can only do yourself good by saving a few cents here and there. It's not like if anything can be done to make Super Wal-Mart shutdown, except for maybe the South Park thing. |

Is it merely a coincidence that Wal-Mart Supercenter will be opening on a Wednesday? Wednesdays being busiest day for Las Palmas with thousands of Mexicans inside Calexico.
See, Wal-Mart is in touch with our community. They very well know how to take advantage of it. |

Did anyone get a glimpse of the local news coverage for the Wal-Mart Supercenter grand opening?
I didn't see any Mexicans being interviewed on TV, just people who seem to be from outside the Imperial Valley. Maybe they didn't find any English speaking ones, but I thought it was strange.
I wish one of us could have been there to represent the voice of Calecia.com. |
