I drove by the OneStop in Calexico today and there was a line that started at the entrance, went around Third street, then up Heffernan, and around Fourth street, then down Heber back to the parking lot of the OneStop. Why were all these people hanging out on this block? Food4Less was accepting applications and conducting interviews today.

I'm just glad that I don't have to go through that shit.

I take that back. I've come to realize that there are actually plenty of jobs here in the Valley. The only thing is that you actually have to go out and look for them. Don't depend on the classified ads in the IV Press, or on your friends to hook you up. And, sometimes, you're going to have to just accept the job that's available at that time.

I just moved back on May 27th and was given two job offers. The first one was something I really wasn't happy doing, but it was the only job available so I accepted it and worked there until I got the second job offer, which is the job I actually wanted.

Oh! That's what that was. I thought they were auditioning to be extras for a movie or something. Everybody inline was facing away from OneStop. I thought the production company was auditioning people in a motel room; that's were the most people were congregated.

Approximately 2,000 applicants and only 75 available positions. I'm curious as to how many of these job hopefuls are residents of Mexicali.

The IVP article stated that there were applicants in line as of 3 AM. Are Calexico residents this ambitious?

Wait a minute wasn't Applebee's going to hire 100+ people. I thought that Food4less would hire more sice it was bigger. I don't get what the hell Applebee's needs so many employees.
