on the same discussion, you skaters got it all wrong on the definition of Caleciano
"An individual from the town of Calexico who is mexican but swears he is white."

A Caleciano never affiliates with being white, errrrr.
If you ask a conservative Calexican, Calecia and Caleciano does have origin in "la cholada." veteranos playing handball across the street from circle K on lincoln in back of rodriguez park. playing basketball in kg's park and 2nd street GTL's. going back to roots.

As far as Chicano being an insult, go to Chicano Day Park on April 23, 2005, and get educated homitos.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Been there, done that. Eaten at Cuatro Milpas along with all the other "gringos."

Let the Chicano in you go and adopt a more blended cultural approach, homie. Being proud of your heritage is great, but staying only within that is so passe.

yes, assimilation without acculturation. assimiliate to white america without acculturating to the culture, keeping the culture one was brought up with. maybe this is a generation thing, i'm first generation in the US, 2nd and 3rd generations tend to lose their culture.

The definition of Caleciano on the Calecia.com Glossary was user submitted. It is not Calecia.com's official definition of a Caleciano, it is probably the definition of a Caleciano by a Chicalon.

If you disagree with that definition, feel free to add your own.

Nice, are you taking some Chicano class or did you read some book to find all this crap out. That is so lame, your like the blond dude in Good Will Hunting reciting shit you read somewhere else. As much as culture is shared between many, it is personalized by the individuals. So the 2nd generation does not lose their culture as you have stated, they create their own. If anything it was the first generation that lost their culture because they did not pass it on to their children.

I passed by Chicano Park yesterday and noticed there is a lot of gang graffiti on some of the murals, which takes us back to the original topic of this discusion: cholos are subhumans and have no respect for anything sacred to citizens.

havent been there in a while but the last time i heard of vandalism at Chicano Park it was the Nazi hate swaztikas and "go back to mexico" spray painted on the murals. there is a watch group around there that take care of the park, i wonder what procedure they have if they catch them desmadrosos. what does "sacred to citizens" mean?

Never seen Good WIll Hunting.
Trained by Jorge Mariscal profe & Vietnam Vet.. Check out this article on military targeting Latinos, http://www.war-times.org/issues/13art5.html
he has a book out on Chicanos in Vietnam.

" If anything it was the first generation that lost their culture because they did not pass it on to their children." the first generation parents, you got it. 2nd generation Mexican-Americans no longer speak Spanish. nothing wrong but being bilingual nowadays here in L.A. is a big plus at an interview.

The majority were cholo names, with many being crossed out.

What I was referring to was anything of value.
