|
|
| When I heard that I was shocked and I still cant believe it. Due to low business, Super Shopping will close its doors forever after being one of the main grocery stores in Calexico. The store will shot down in April and it was sold to and individual. I think its sad that Super Shopping is going out of business. Ive been there for many years and the idea that the store will be gone makes me sad. I really can't see Calexico without Super Shopping. I really dont see it but they are leaving. |

Who in the hell would buy a building full of bullet holes?

That's too bad that Super Shopping (Apple Market) is going out of business, although I haven't shopped there since I was a little kid. The last thing I had something from there was a watered down Coors Light keg that really had no effect on us during a previous Super Bowl Sunday. That's not to say that their other products were not of high quality. I think the last thing I ever bought there was a carton of eggs for one of the high school poster parties and before that it might have been one of those frosted apple pies in green paper packaging (can't remember the brand name). Oh, and to pay some bills.
From what I've heard, they had a free local delivery service for customers which was great, but I can only imagine this really cut into the profits of that sale. Even so, this was great customer service. Unfortunately these type of "value added services" are not able to keep it afloat against Food 4 Less and the upcoming Wal-Mart Supercenter.
There are a few other markets on Second St. such as T.C. Worthy and Peso/Calexico Market. I wonder how they are doing? |

Who ever it gets sold too, I hope they don't ruin the building. You don't see that many structures with large windows anymore. |

So why didn't you break the news before Radiodude? You could have truly had the "Inside Story" on this one.
I guess you snooze, you lose. |

| That's a shame. Goodbye, Super Shopping. I heard the store had another name before it was called Super Shopping. I guess you're old school Calecia if you know that one. |

| The whole town of Calexico is going out of business. Someone should make a thread of how many stores have closed in the last few years. If it weren't for MEX, Calecia would be an ejido of El Centro. |

Yeah and if it wasn't for Calecia chicali wouldn't have hundreds of students getting a free education while overcrowding the schools. Look at both sides dea. |
