it officially closed its doors yesterday. sad news. i walked in on tuesday and noticed most if not all of the shelves completely empty. my stomach kinda turned over and tears almost came to my eyes. silly calexico. now they have their super walmart.

I agree. I went there last friday and EVERYTHING was gone. Empty. Sad but true. My favorite store and a Calexico tradition is gone. I been there all my life and now life without Apple Market will be strange for me and my family who were loyal costumers for more than 22 years. Marc Schanz from the IV press ran an ariticle on yesturdays paper.

The end of an era.

yeah. thanks for being loyal customers. the city of calexico might not know it yet, but i bet they'll regret losing us. aye que sad.

Tony's Market seems to be benefitting from the Super Shopping closure. Even though the daughters are said to be bitches, senior citizens now have no choice but to shop there.

I wonder if business picked up for Frontera Market (formerly Jim's)?

No, not those kind of bitches.

They don't even let you pay with a $20 if you're just buying something small, like churritos or a soda. I understand they are a small business, but you don't turn down a customer because you don't have or will not give change.

I personally like the store, since it feels like an abarrote, and I haven't had a problem there.

Last thing I shopped in Apple Market I bought three boxes of Special K. I love Special K and everytime I went to Apple Market I bought Special K. You know, to lose weight.
