Friends,
What good are they?
One day you’re having
fun with them,
Then next,
They don’t want to
Speak to you
It’s always
Like that,
Especially for
Someone like me.
I get to know them,
I don’t want to lose them
But still do.
I don’t know what
I am doing wrong,
But whatever it is
I need to know.
For now I guess
I will give up on them,
And go at it ....

Love works in different ways
One moment is happy,
And the other is sadness
Some say it’s stupid,
Some say it’s great but sucks at the same time.
I don’t have any of it,
Yet, I fall into it.
I could be considered one of my many mysteries.
For some reason,
I don’t believe in it.
Then again,
I do.
I know that everyone falls in love,
One way or another
But how?
I guess some us just won’t know.

As we lay here in the darkness,
The hours pass by.
My love, I never told you this,
That you’re the only one in this world for me
How long my love was so blind,
And now I don’t know what to do
My heart aches for love,
And years for companionship,
As we grow,
Our love grows
Down here we do nothing
But talk about the future
Instead, we should talk
About the beautiful present
Now all we do is
Think about the past.

I wanted to say thank you to everyone for all your support. Please know how much Carlos loved each and every one of you. If we can learn anything from him, please remember not to ever take each other for granted and try to always let your friends know that you care about them. A lot of us weren't very good at that with him. The preceding poems were written by Carlos several years ago and though many of you may not know, he was working on a book of poetry as well as a book of fiction. He was quite a brilliant writer. I, personally, have lost more than just my cousin, he was my brother and the smartest person I ever knew, and I just hope that his death will not have been in vain. Please appreciate each other.
Also, if you are interested in helping his family with any financial assistance, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me at 760/791-8276 or Alejo at 760/562-6906. I'm sure Carlos would appreciate having you all come to say goodbye to him and once the arrangements have been finalized, they will be posted. Again, thank you everybody, and especially Calecia.com.

Just to let you know, visitation will be from 6pm to 9pm, Thrusday, February 17, 2005 at Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico. Services will also be held at Hems Brothers Mortuary in Calexico at 10am, Friday, February 18, 2005.
