I could have gone, but didn't, because I really can't put myself through it. Aside from the fact that the Ramones really weren't that great and by no means had anything to do with the creation of punk rock, it's friggin' Marky Ramone. He is doing nothing but making himself rich out of a band's name which he wasn't even one of the founders of. Also, I hear a Ramones song everywhere I go, including the gym. If anything, I need a break from hearing them. There really is no way I can put myself through hearing lame re-creations of songs that weren't even that great to begin with.

Bottom line: leave shit in the grave.

I agree with what you say about Marky Ramone, but if I was still C.com administrator I'd ban your ass in two seconds flat for this blasphemy you speak.

The Ramones are great. My overall favorite band. Of course, the songs that get the most airplay you get tired of, but then there's Commando, Cretin Hop and Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue, plus other greats. I love how basic and raw this music is. Nothing fancy.

Of course, that's just my opinion. Although everyone does say I'm a fascist asshole.

Hey, I never said the Ramones sucked, I just think they are a little bit overrated. I myself enjoy most of the 1st album and even some of the stuff they released a little bit later. It's raw, catchy, and fun. But have you heard some of the stuff they released after that (mostly after the departure of Tommy and Deedee)? It's seriously utter crap. Marky Ramone was partly responsible for it, so fuck him.

realneo said that there were about 20 people at the show and it was just him playing some Ramones songs and later playing a drum machine. He kept telling the people to dance.

I really wish I would've been there just to have a good laugh.

And yeah, most of the older Ramones music does blow in comparison to the old stuff.
