| Nirvana was cool. I have to admit, Kurt Cobain was just show just like any other "rock star" in the history of rock and roll. But really, forgetting all that fuss about MTV, whether Nirvana sold out or not, or Kurt just doing everythimg he did for attention, they had cool music and cool lyrics. |

Great list! I would include Michael Jackson though. Even though he's become repulsive now. But back in the day, he rocked. |
Michael Jackson is definitely in this list.
And I still believe that Jacko is innocent. Did you hear about the accuser's JC Penny case? |

You say kurt is a "rockstar"....GG allin was worse look at all the stupid shit he did for lots of attention. The difference was Kurt cobain was smart and passionate. GG Allin: Dumb ass. No passion just attention. You like him cuz he eats shit? seriously? weird man. Sorry man u don't know the definition for "rockstar". What kind of attention are u talking about? There was more bands that sounded like nirvana.....no fucking duh this is the one that came up though . You have to admit they had a new and fresh sound to the "mainstream" again let me say it "mainstream". It was a bad example what u said. I can easily say there was more bands that sounded like ramones before them you don't make sense buddies.
Don't compare PEarl Jam with Nirvana. They are not the same music period. They are totally different. I can tell you guys havent listened ever to nirvana. Except maybe Nevermind. You don't deserve to talk about nirvana until you heard it |

Yes Playero, Kurt was a sellout, even if you dont' accept it. Yes, he was an attention whore, like you. Yes, he fell into drugs and suicide because he was too much of a coward to admit he was nothing but a sellout. His music was good despite all of this. If you read my last post you would have known that that was the point of my comment.
And by the way, what does GG have anything to do with the discussion? |

Why are you defending Kurt and Nirvana so much?
Don't you think it's a little pathetic? |

Kurt was a sell out. Come on he did all those pepsi commercials. THen he did all those televised concerts and made millions of dollars. He could have not sold out and made hundreds.
I think it's bullshit. Just becasue he got is band on Mtv and made money doesn't mean he sold out. If would have changed his music and made commercials with a milk mustache then I would agree.
You guys are saying you would rather play small venues and make several thousands or play huge sold out venues and make millions. Sound like a obvious business move to me. |

Honey, puhlease. He's guilty as sin. Read the article on him in the March issue of Vanity Fair. Frightening. |

Excerpt from Nostalgia For An Age That Never Existed from Prairie Home Invasion by Jello Biafra and Mojo Nixon:
Do you remember
Being the first punk in your town
Outlaw #1
For the t-shirt you had on
Now you stay at home
Mad at the whole scene
For refusing to freeze
In 1983
Why can't all the bands reform
Stick to playing their old songs
It ain't punk
If it ain't just like the old days
That was then, this is now
Suckling up to the sacred cow
Can leave you stuck in the mud
With it's remains
Nostalgia for an age that never existed
Nostalgia for an age that never existed |
