Not sure if this would go under Event, Theater, or Gaming but...

Would anybody here be interested in attending an Xbox and Gamecube LAN at the Calexico 10? Thoughts on an event like this?

Could you give us some more details?

Will you be using the screens at the theater or just using one (or some) of the rooms to host the event?

None of this has been set up yet, but yes, we're looking into using the actual screens themselves to play on. It would also be during non-operational hours meaning something like midnight to afternoon which would allow people full use of the theater.

The main game we have in mind to play is Halo 2 right after its release with 16 people on four screens, but it would also be open to any other game you can get people to play.

Sound fun?

Yeah, this sounds cool. When is it scheduled for and how much will admission be?

If you have some pretty good players, it might even be cool to just watch the action from a movie seat.

We're still working on an exact date but admission will most likely be $15 to play and $3 to spectate. So far we have gotten a few serious Halo teams from El Centro, Brawley, and even Yuma willing to attend. Haven't found any from Calexico y

Why use the calexico 10 to set up this event? Im not saying is a bad idea because it is not, but I think you should find another venue to make this event happen. Calexico 10 is open and running movies at noon but If you still want to make it there then do it from 2pm to 4 before the mass of people arrive. You can donate your profit to charity if you want and that way you will not distract people from the movies. But again, I suggest you to look for another venue.

Does The Movies in Imperial have digital projectors? I've seen them show those slide advertisements for local businesses before the show which got me thinking that they do but anyone know for sure?
