21,000 year old bones, viking ships, lost treasure... just some of the myths, legends and rumors that exist about the Imperial Valley and its surrounding regions.
| UFO Area wrote: | For now, these stories will have to be shrouded in mystery, along with the 21,000 year old bones found in California's Imperial Valley, also rumored to have been spirited off by the Smithsonian.

I have heard about a hospital in Calexico many times. Does that belong in the myth/legend category? |

| There's a women's ghost that comes out at night on the highways 98/8/111. Apearently they are the gohsts of people who had accidents on those highways. Most of the people who confirmed this are either stoners, or didn't sleep for a while before the drive, so they are not 100% reliable. Anyone seen these ghosts?? |

The pit in Return of the Jedi is somewhere in our local desert.
Of course, no one knows where it is. |

And that the ship hull is still there and intact.
I've heard that Lucas owns that piece of land and trespassing is not allowed. Violators will be phased on sight without warning.
There are quite a few interesting movie titles that have been shot in this desert too. |
