Did anyone catch NOFX on Late Night with Conan O'Brien last night (Tuesday, August 10th, 2004)?

This was NOFX's national television debut and it was rumored that their performance on this popular late night talk show would be very political (i.e. - anti-Bush). They have a slew of political songs dishonoring the president, so I was curious as to which one was played.

NOFX is working hard on getting George W. Bush out of office this election as they dedicated the majority of their last full length album, The War On Errorism, and are releasing* this August 20th a compilation named Rock Against Bush Vol. I.

They've also setup a political Web site named PunkVoter.com who's main goal is to get all the new age punks aware on the current political situation. It's been up and running for years, but I believe it is very important now in the "punk scene" because of the recent lack of interest with kids fresh out of high school. And it doesn't hurt too that punk is the very much in right now.

BTW, you don't have to be punk to agree with these 40 Reasons to Hate Bush!

* Release by the lead vocalist/bassist Fat Mike's record label, Fat Wreck Chords.

Though I am no longer the biggest of NOFX fans, I saw it, and thought it was a pretty damn fine performance; got it sitting in my DVR for future enjoyment.

im sorry, but some reasons in the "reasons to hate bush" is crap.

unemployment is at 6%: We usually have an unemployment rate of 4-5 %. i agree its a bit bad. but how come they dont talk about the inflation rate? or the rGDP? Even if they did speak about it, it wouldn't matter. The President has LITTLE power, if any, over our economy.

Health Care Cut for Veterans: the majority of our taxes is going to social security and health care for the seniors of our country. for every two people that are working, one senior citizen is gettin social security. SS was not meant to be the main income of someone over 65. it was merely to be small aid. something must be done to correct this issue, especially before the majority of the "baby boomers" start earning SS. cutting some health benefits is one option, either that or raise taxes, which do you prefer?

First president to ever have a criminal record: i know for sure he's not going to be the last president to have a criminal record. and this sounds like hypocrisy to me. I'm pretty sure the people behind this compilation have done illegal things in their lives.

Biggest protest ever: so does this make him worse than hitler? than stalin? than mussolini? than saddam? i dont think so.

Most Coporate Donations ever: who was the previous record holder? i wouldnt be surprised if it was Bill Clinton. i bet it wasnt George Washington.

Hasnt caught Bin Laden: As if its easy to catch a really wealthy terrorist.

Loss of U.S. Job, Explotation of 3rd world country workers: really, are the workers in 3r world countrys getting exploited? according to what standards? to OUR standards, but if their salary is compared to other workers in that country, they're getting paid pretty good. and we get our items cheaper, how come i dont see people complaing about this?

Dropped his dog in his head, choked on a pretzel, etc. those are just lame reasons

there's two sides to every issue, i recommend we go see the other point of view before we starting forming opinions.
