Mexico has advanced to the next round in the Copa America 2004 after securing 1st place in Group B. They will be playing either Brazil or Paraguay in the semifinals on July 18th in Piura, Peru.
Everything looks good, except for one thing...
None of the other countries are playing their star players while Mexico has the majority of them on the field.
Will a victory in this tournament prove anything or is will it just allow Mexico is to keep their #6 standing in the FIFA World Rankings? |

I think in South America they're putting more importance to the World Cup qualifiers. But even if the major countries took their good players, Mexico would still give them a good game. It seems the only team Mexico can't solve is the United States.
BTW, those rankings are out there just for the sake of having rankings, I personally don't find them at all important. |

well, those rankings are very deceiving. but thats a whole different story. and yes, mexico's performance, if they advance to the final will surely increase their rank. but those rankings are of no consequence at all....
yeah, true, most teams don't have their star players. but argentina almost does, except for a couple (hernan crespo and roberto ayala). and mexico doesn't actually have their complete team. they have chiquis garcia, masa rodriguez, diego martinez and luis perez tied up in the olympic national team. so either way, i think mexico is looking good. but fuck it, lets see what happens this sunday.
viva la volpe!!!! muerte a hugo!!! |

Argentina scored 10 combine goals against Ecuador and Uruguay, but manage ZERO against Mexico.
La Volve teams are solid in the back field, but for those who have watch all three games have seen some holes in the defense. Still, they finished in 1st place.
Ok, can anyone explain to me what the filth flying filth is el emperador Claudio Suarez still doing out there? No more.
Hugo might be a cancer off the field, but he has proven that he can win on the field as a player and now as a coach. He'll be good for the National team when his opportunity arises. My bad, great. |

yes!! i agree, Mexico 2 Brazil 1. My hatred of both Hugo Tarugo and America is shared with you clandestino.
although hugo has proven himself now as a coach, i still don't believe he is national team material. he's way at the bottom of the waiting list. before him are other great mexican coaches that should be considered. Such as "Flaco" Tena, Victor M. Vuzetich, Fernando Quirarte, etc... Yeah sure, his time will come but not anytime soon. he fucking screams about mexican nationalism and pride, but i swear to fucking god that if he is given the opportunity to coach real madrid he will not think twice, even if it means giving up the national team coaching position. he is full of contradictions, jealousy, and shit! |

4-0.
Well, those holes I talked about came back to haunt the National team. All Copa America long they had no answer against the headers.
I'm sorry, any time your team loses 4-0 in any cup its time for the DT to pack his bags.
Also, I know I've said it a million times about how C.Blanco needs to stay off the national team, well he needs to at least play one game in there to see what he can add to the team.
Mexico needs to know how to finish. |

wrong wrong wrong!!!! it's not time for Lavolpe to pack his bags. give the guy some time. fuck we forgave Aguirre for the bullshit he pulled against the US in World Cup 2002, so c'mon lets give this guy another opportunity. there is only so much he can do when mexico is a country with no fucking "delanteros"! mexican players are good but don't have the drive, conviction, and determination that teams like brazil and argentina have. mexico need star forwards with balls and intelligence, and sadly right now, there are none. yesterday, mexico had no idea what they fuck the game plan was. they were lost , completely lost.
as for blanco, i agree i've always said that that fucker should be off the team, but at this stage of the game, we need someone desperately. and the fucker has some talent, so lets give him a chance.
pumas lost yesterday.....jajaja....that was the only highlight of the day. fuck hugo!!!! |
