Subscribe to that crap! I can get on the San Diego Union Website for free.

Hey, it's still free. They just want to know who's reading it. That's why they want people to register. Union-Tribune and LA Times do the same thing. They're still free but require a log in name and password

This is totally understandable, but it will definitely cut down on the number of online readers. Internet users do not like to sign up to have to obtain access to "free" content. The Imperial Valley Press will still get a large number of registered users reading the online edition of the publication, but I can guarantee that a good percentage will be using bogus contact information.

If you're old school Calecia, there was a time when Calecia.com required readers to login to the view the discussions.

Yeah, but unlike the Imperial Valley Press, the San Diego Union-Tribune and Los Angeles Times tell the whole story when they write an article.

I have yet to be asked to sign in at the Union-Tribune site. fuck the iv press.

Right on, the press sucks ass, and must therefore be thrown out of the valley. Hell, I highly doubt that a third world country would think this "periodical" was good. It's just an over glorified gossip sheet.
