I don't know if this is a fact, but this is the rumor I heard.
Apparently, as the story goes, Pizza Hut had been secretly charging its customers a delivery charge, (This I know they were doing.), so the city of Calexico sued them, and they were forced to close down.
Has anyone else heard this? Does anyone know this to be true/false? |

I quickly glanced at an IV Press articles regarding the re-opening of the Pizza Hut stores in the Imperial Valley. I'll need to look them up and read what the story actually was.
Regarding the delivery charge, if those bastards were being sneaky about it, they'll never be forgiven.
I ordered a pizza from there recently and asked for delivery. When they gave me the total, I knew something was not right. The price was about $2 more than it should be. When I asked for an itemized price list, they stated a $1.75 delivery fee. I told them to forget the deliver and change it to carry-out.
I have no problem tipping the driver $2, but to give the store $2 for delivery? I don't think so. |

| Don't all pizza places charge for delivery? When I order from Domino's they ask if it's for pickup or delivery and there's usually about a $2 difference in price. Specially with the price of gas these days, they have to charge for delivery. |

No, they don't...it's not like the delivery drivers are driving company vehicles; they drive their personally-owned cars. |

What those pizza delivery restaurants need to do is pay their delivery drivers above the minimum wage. Then it would make sense to charge a delivery fee.*

In a big city maybe, but here in the Valley?
Furthermore, most delivery drivers only get about 35-50 cents per delivery, where does the rest of the money go? The store. Those cents are all supposed to cover car maintenance, gas, and anything else that may come up with the drivers car. What happens if his/her car messes up? They don't work.
Don't believe in the delivery charge unless you know for a fact that every cent goes to the driver, sadly, I've never heard of such a thing. |

Below are a couple articles I found on the Imperial Valley Press:
- Pizza Huts close doors indefinitely
- Pizza Huts reopen in the Valley
Unless I misread something, there's no mention of anything related to delivery fees. Spic-ole, it is your duty to do some investigative reporting. |

| I had an elementary student from the street try and sell me some Pizza Hut coupons for a fund raiser. Is Pizza Hut using child labor to promote their business? |
